Off-Duty Los Angeles Police Officer Charged With Murder in DUI Crash

LOS ANGELES – On the 26th of September, Edgar Verduzco killed 3 individuals while driving impaired while off-duty for which the officer has been charged with murder.

He was driving at a high rate of speed on Interstate 605 when he crashed into the back of 2 vehicles. He was not on-duty when he caused the accident.

One of the vehicles burst into flames in which 3 individuals were traveling and they all died. 2 individuals traveling in the other car sustained injuries.

On Friday, he was charged with vehicular manslaughter and DUI for the accident.

If convicted, he faces a sentence of up to life in prison.
