24-Year-Old Jersey City Man Charged With Pointing A Gun At A Man
JERSEY CITY – 24-year-old Chaz R. Morris, of Van Wagenen Avenue near Pavonia Avenue, has been charged with pointing a gun at a man through a window, threatening him to “come out and fight.”
Facts of the Case
According to officials, Morris was charged with making terroristic threats and weapons offenses related to a gun in connection to an incident that took place in Jersey City last week.
According to the Hudson County Assistant Prosecutor, John Wojtal, “The allegation is the defendant went to a window of an acquaintance, pointed a gun at him and told him to come out and fight.”
Morris was identified as the man with the gun who threatened the alleged victim. He was arrested but no gun was recovered.

His criminal record shows that Morris:
- Has three prior arrests and criminal convictions for resisting arrest and two counts of theft.
- In the recent incident, his bail was set at $100,000 cash or bond
- He was ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim when he appeared in Central Processing court in Jersey City via a video link from Hudson County jail in Kearny.
