Three People Found Dead In Upscale New Jersey Apartment In Apparent Murder-Suicide
On Friday, 3 individuals were found dead inside a luxury New Jersey high-rise apartment building. 53-year-old Michael Stasko shot and killed his wife and 8-year-old daughter before killing himself by shooting.
It is being called as a murder-suicide by the authorities who investigated the incident.
Facts of the Case
Bergen County Prosecutor, John Molinelli, told that 49-year-old Melissa Stasko and her daughter, Nellie, were in bed when her husband shot them with a .45-caliber handgun.
After the investigation of the apartment, gifts organized under a Christmas tree were found.
Molinelli added, “We do not know at this point in time, why Mr. Stasko shot his wife and daughter. We don’t know what perhaps was going through Mr. Stasko’s mind for him to do this. We don’t know whether it was financial, we don’t know whether it was familial.”
A Number of Unknowns
It is not confirmed when he shot them both, but cops discovered the dead bodies at about 7 p.m. on Friday after Melissa Stasko’s worried brother reported the incident.
The reason for the shooting is still unknown.
Stasko worked as a watch salesman who sold to law enforcement personnel and their supporters.
