Two-State Investigation Leads Police To Drug, Weapons Stash In Philly

WEST TRENTON – An investigation on major shipment of marijuana case led the authorities to another location with more amount of the drug.

At a New Jersey freight depot, authorities found 300 pounds of pot and took 2 Philadelphia men into custody which assisted them in knowing the location with 4 more pounds of marijuana and weapons stash.

37-year-old Hasan Bacon and 38-year-old Michael Staine were arrested from the delivery location. They both were charged for:

  • Unlawful possession of a firearm
  • Distribution of marijuana

The New Jersey State Police got a hint that the drug will be sent to Philadelphia, so they made a controlled delivery in collaboration with the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office.

The investigation led them to another location where they found the drug with the weapons including:

  • Mossberg 500 12-gauge shotgun
  • Henry .22-caliber rifle
  • Remington 1187 12-gauge shotgun
  • Bushmaster AR-15 rifle
  • Weatherby .306 rifle
  • Glock 43 9 mm handgun
  • Glock 19 9 mm handgun
  • Sig Sauer P229 handgun
  • Springfield XD .40-caliber handgun

According to Col. Patrick Callahan of the New Jersey State Police, the chances of seized weapons utilized for violence are less.
