Six Members Of The Hackensack Police Narcotics Officers Suspended
HACKENSACK, N.J. – The entire unit of the Hackensack Police Narcotics Division, which included 6 members, has been suspended.
The members were suspended amid an administrative investigation, including:
- The unit commander
- The second-in-command
- Two detectives
- Two patrol officers
The news was confirmed by multiple law enforcement sources.
Facts of the Case
Capt. Francesco Aquila, who is the officer in charge of the department, confirmed early Tuesday evening, “The officers were suspended pending the outcome of an investigation.” Aquila refused further comment on the issue.
The investigation was being carried out in conjunction with the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.
Official Guidelines
According to guidelines given by the state Attorney General, at least one officer must remain in the division now that the others have been suspended.
Lt. Michael Antista was appointed by Aquila.
