30 New Jersey Towns With Highest Violent Crime Rates


The FBI’s most recent annual crime report shows that the rate of violent crime in New Jersey for the year 2016 has reduced for the fifth-straight year. However, the rate has increased again now as there are a large number of killings reported in major cities.

The increase of 4.1% is seen in the rate of violent crimes and the homicide crime rate increased by 8.6%.

30. Eatontown

The rate decreased 5.38% and the violent crime rate is 31.80, per 10,000 individuals.

29. Linden

The rate decreased 2.73% and the violent crime rate is 32.30, per 10,000 individuals.

28. Willingboro Township

The rate increased 7.42% and the violent crime rate is 32.37, per 10,000 individuals.

27. Somers Point

The rate increased 30.58% and the violent crime rate is 33.43, per 10,000 individuals.

26. Morristown

The rate increased 11.11% and the violent crime rate is 33.43, per 10,000 individuals.

25. Long Branch

The rate increased 9.69% and the violent crime rate is 34.56, per 10,000 individuals.

24. Pemberton

The rate decreased 14.72% and the violent crime rate is 34.96, per 10,000 individuals.

23. Woodbury

The rate increased 0.24% and the violent crime rate is 35.22, per 10,000 individuals.

22. Hillside Township

The rate decreased 9.11% and the violent crime rate is 35.94, per 10,000 individuals.

21. Perth Amboy

The rate decreased 9.38% and the violent crime rate is 39.79, per 10,000 individuals.

20. Jersey City

The rate decreased 8.07%and the violent crime rate is 47.93, per 10,000 individuals.

19. Vineland

The rate decreased 10.95% and the violent crime rate is 48.83, per 10,000 individuals.

18. Burlington City

The rate increased 1.81% and the violent crime rate is 52.19, per 10,000 individuals.

17. Pleasantville

The rate decreased 26.69% and the violent crime rate is 54.66, per 10,000 individuals.

The rate increased 1.35% and the violent crime rate is 67.45, per 10,000 individuals.

The rate increased 4.66% and the violent crime rate is 67.55, per 10,000 individuals.

The rate decreased 4.37% and the violent crime rate is 68.58, per 10,000 individuals.
